Terms of Use

Effective August 22, 2026

Agreement and eligibility

By accepting these terms or using StrideCircuit, you agree to them. Do not use StrideCircuit if you cannot legally agree. StrideCircuit is a general-audience fitness utility and is not directed to children under 13.

Route-planning service

StrideCircuit owns the route-hypothesis, refinement, validation, scoring, and route-selection logic. The configured routing service connects StrideCircuit’s ordered waypoints to mapped pedestrian or bicycle paths and supplies street guidance. The private beta uses a developer-operated Valhalla engine built from OpenStreetMap data. StrideCircuit sends the start, ordered planning waypoints, route preferences, and ordinary network metadata to it over direct authenticated HTTPS. When Route Details loads, it also sends a bounded, downsampled copy of the planned route geometry, containing no more than 220 points, to calculate the elevation profile. The service processes these requests transiently, retains no route-request or access logs, and receives no active-run GPS history. Cloudflare supplies authoritative DNS only and does not proxy routing HTTPS. Strict route mode rejects a candidate when required parking, indoor, passage, or protected-road crossing evidence is unavailable rather than silently substituting an unverified route. Crossing evidence applies only to the exact mapped movement and may describe mapped signal control, a marked crossing, or grade separation; it is not a promise that a crossing is safe or unchanged. The crossing-check object contains completeness, version, and count metadata plus accepted event entries. Each event entry adds only opaque event and site identifiers, route-leg and route-shape indexes, coarse road class, and accepted mapped-control status; the route response separately contains geometry, instructions, and strict edge evidence. If you enable the optional community trail layer, StrideCircuit also displays community-contributed OpenStreetMap trail geometry. Results from any source may be incomplete, unavailable, delayed, or inaccurate.

Apple real-time guidance notices

YOUR USE OF THIS REAL TIME ROUTE GUIDANCE APPLICATION IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. LOCATION DATA MAY NOT BE ACCURATE.

YOUR USE OF THIS REAL TIME WEATHER GUIDANCE APPLICATION OR WEBSITE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. WEATHER DATA MAY NOT BE ACCURATE.

Safety responsibilities

You are responsible for checking traffic, weather, terrain, lighting, construction, property boundaries, trail rules, accessibility, and your physical condition. Obey laws, signs, closures, and official instructions. Never follow the app into an unsafe or prohibited area.

Health and emergencies

StrideCircuit does not provide medical advice and is not an emergency, rescue, or personal-safety service. Consult an appropriate professional before exercise when needed. Contact local emergency services for urgent help.

Optional Run Safety

Run Safety is an optional check-in aid during active navigation. Start and finish notices are message drafts that you must review and send yourself. Where Apple Critical Messaging is available and enabled, and only after you separately authorize the selected phone number, an unanswered safety check may request one background critical SMS to that contact. If you choose, a safety message may include a one-time last-known location and its timestamp; StrideCircuit does not provide continuous or live location tracking. Alerts and messages may be unavailable, late, inaccurate, interrupted, or fail because of device or app state, force quit, permissions, location accuracy, network, Apple service, carrier, or recipient-service conditions. Message and data rates may apply. Run Safety does not monitor you continuously, contact or dispatch emergency services, or guarantee that anyone will receive, read, or act on a message. Contact local emergency services directly for urgent help.

Optional Apple Health saving

When you end an iPhone run, StrideCircuit saves a running workout and, when GPS samples are available, its route to Apple Health if you allow write access. The iPhone app does not read your historical Health data. You can also schedule a goal in Apple’s Workout app or send a selected route to the paired StrideCircuit Watch app. During a Watch-run, the Watch requests access to live workout metrics such as heart rate, distance, and active energy so it can display and save that workout. StrideCircuit does not transmit Health data to a developer-operated server. Apple Health controls its own storage and use of information saved there.

Optional completed-workout sharing

After an eligible iPhone-recorded workout, StrideCircuit can create an image on your device containing selected workout statistics and, only if you choose it, a stylized shape of the actual recorded GPS route. Stats Only is selected each time by default. You can hide every recorded point within 1/4, 1/2, or 1 mile of both endpoints, or separately confirm Full Route, which includes the recorded start and finish. Masking preserves gaps but cannot guarantee anonymity; any remaining shape or statistics may still reveal where, when, or how you exercised. Review the exact preview before opening the iOS share sheet. The destination you choose controls what it retains, republishes, or infers. StrideCircuit does not post automatically, guarantee a social platform, or send the image, destination, or delivery result to its developer/server.

Optional Motion & Fitness cadence

During active navigation, StrideCircuit may use your iPhone’s or Apple Watch’s Motion & Fitness signal to display live step cadence. Cadence is used in the app during the active run, is not used for advertising, and is not sent to a developer-operated server.

Mapping services

Apple supplies the visual MapKit display, terrain and satellite imagery, search, geocoding, and Look Around. In this private-beta shipping configuration, pedestrian and bicycle directions are supplied only by the developer-operated Valhalla service; missing strict evidence fails closed rather than using Apple Directions. Apple also supplies optional Apple Watch workout schedules and Apple Watch connectivity. Each provider has separate terms, privacy practices, coverage limits, and availability. Optional trail geometry comes from OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database License and is requested through the Private.coffee Overpass service with separate terms, privacy practices, capacity limits, and availability.

Weather and daylight

If planning conditions are enabled, Apple Weather supplies a forecast for the selected start and expected departure hour. The forecast is advisory, may be delayed or inaccurate, and does not prove that a particular route is shaded, clear, or safe. Apple’s required weather attribution is displayed in the app.

Event courses and external browsing

Native RunSignup catalog and event-detail requests are disabled in this build. StrideCircuit does not send a ZIP code, radius, date range, or race identifier to RunSignup. Saved and user-imported event courses can remain on this iPhone. Browse RunSignup and any saved official link open the provider’s website only after you choose the link, under that provider’s separate terms and privacy practices. StrideCircuit is not the event organizer, does not process registration or payment, and does not verify availability, dates, distances, fees, eligibility, cancellation status, safety, or course accuracy. Confirm current details with the organizer. A StrideCircuit training route created from an event distance is not the official event course. If you associated a GPX file from Files with an event, StrideCircuit cannot prove who published it or whether it is current. An imported course is for reference only and is not enabled for navigation, Apple Watch transfer, or strict mapped-route claims.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the app, interfere with its operation, reverse engineer protected components where prohibited, violate others’ rights, trespass, or use route guidance to break any law.

Availability and changes

Features may change, be suspended, or stop working because of device, network, mapping-service, legal, or operational constraints. Material term changes will require a new acknowledgement when appropriate.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent allowed by law, StrideCircuit is provided “as is” and “as available,” without promises that routes are safe, accessible, accurate, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose.

Liability and local rights

To the maximum extent allowed by law, the provider is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded in your jurisdiction.

Contact

StrideCircuit is provided by Bryan Joseph Demarco, an individual developer. Contact grew_spout0u@icloud.com for questions or notices.
